Principles and Recommendations of the 9th International Symposium

We are happy to present the Principles and Recommendations of the 9th International Symposium by Children Now entitled Working with Families in Transition in the 21st Century, which was held on May 31st, June 1st and 2nd, 2018.

Resulting from the collective work of a group of experts, this document was directed by Ricaardoe Di Done & Me Catherine Clément-Talbot LL. B., and edited by Me Catherine Clément-Talbot LL. B., Bill Eddy LCSW, CFLS & Dr. Peggie Ward Ph. D.(Psych).

This document is the synthesis of the presentations given by speakers from Europe, the United States, Canada, and Australia. The following themes were addressed: innovations and best practices in dealing with high conflict co-parenting relations, estrangement and alienation between children and parents, and domestic violence. The experts including matrimonial counsellors, social workers, mediators, lawyers, judges, psychologists, and specialists in related fields brought together their legal and psychosocial knowledge to develop a set of best practices for families in transition experiencing high conflict separation and/or divorce.

So that children may have a healthy and attentive family environment; so they can develop and reach their full potential.
